Morgan and Destiny

Beautiful, fun, whimsical, cute...well written. There isn't enough for me to say about this. I think that this is my new favorite short films. It's worth the 6 minutes on the second one, but you really should watch it without distractions. You need to absorb the words and story.
Brilliant I tell you. If I knew anything about making films, I would make mine something like this.
Enjoy these both.

Quotes to Ponder

I have been building up a list of quotations. These help me out when I'm down, a little muddled, or completely lost in art, life, everything. Enjoy.

"Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead."
Louisa May Alcott

"No longer forward nor behind
I look in hope and fear;
But grateful take the good I find,
The best of now and here."
John G. Whittier

"Go back a little to leap further."
John Clarke

"Normal is not something to aspire to, it's something to get away from."
Jodie Foster

"When I work, I work very fast, but preparing to work can take any length of time."
Cy Twombly

"Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's what's insane about it."
John Lennon

"Reason is powerless in the expression of Love."
Rumi

"Don't pay any attention to what they write about you. Just measure it in inches."
Andy Warhol

"A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be at peace with himself. What a man can be, he must be."
Abraham Maslo

"Only when he no longer knows what he is doing does the painter do good things."
Edgar Degas

"I am an artist… I am here to live out loud."
Emile Zola

"A line is a dot that went for a walk."
Paul Klee

“Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”
Helen Keller

Happy Monday!

I'm no fan of Donnie & Marie but...

as the song goes...
"I'm a little bit country
And I'm a little bit rock 'n roll
I'm a little bit of Memphis and Nashville
With a little bit of Motown in my soul
I don't know if it's good or bad
But I know I love it so
I'm a little bit country
And I'm a little bit rock 'n roll"

and so I let it inspire my dress today with one of my favorite
scarfs & pins juxtaposed with my distressed jeans & classic
black hi-top cons.
 Check it here:

And of course, a little bit of what I call Rodeo
jewelry.
The first one my mom bought me at the first rodeo I worked
 a stand at:

And this second one is one my youngest brother bought me
years ago in some ol' country store.

This inspired ensemble is brought to you by my boredom
and too much time. Also, my recent stint of listening to my
 old CD's.

Ohh, I almost forgot...this perfectly goes with how I feel today:

Inspired. Wanted. Needed? Craved!

So, I've been kinda down as of late. There are just SO many things that I love and want to do...things that inspire, want, crave...and ultimately don't need. And as this is a time of financial burden the need for restraint is crucial. But I still get the magazines and catalogs and I lust.
To make me feel more as if I am getting a dose of those things I crave, I have decided to start making a collection of things that I love and want. Things that inspire perhaps a future purchase, a cheaper option, or even sparks a little inventive building of my own.
So, here I start this little inspiring wall of longing.
First off are the things that I look at every time the catalogs come from my local chain stores that I like to walk through, Pier One and Crate and Barrel:

And then there are those things that I think I will never be able to afford, but could never bring myself to pay that much for even if I did. They should change the name of Luxe Magazine to Lust Magazine.
